Learn ReTensioning® with PoisePoint Education

ReTensioning® is an integrative technique to rebalance the forces of the muscles pulling things together with the forces of the bones holding things apart. This dynamic balance of the bones and soft tissues creates the shape of our bodies and controls the way in which we can move. ReTensioning® changes this balance by using gentle movements and precise positioning to enable clients to reset their muscular activity at rest and in motion. The result is that clients rest more fully and have more energy, less joint strain, and move more easily when doing activities.

ReTensioning® is an indirect, neurological reeducation technique that uses the client’s nervous system to make changes in the tissues and the forces inside their body. Because the client is doing most of the actual, direct tissue work the changes are integrated at a rate that the client can absorb and retain. Also, the physical strain on the practitioner is much less than in most direct tissue manipulation techniques.

ReTensioning® can integrate the effects of other specific, local techniques that may be used in a session in order to address specific individual needs of a client. The results in enhancing the effectiveness of those techniques and getting a broader improvement from them.

Clients receiving ReTensioning® report feeling a sense of whole body integration, decreased mental and physical strain, regional and global improvements in movement abilities, and that these effects are long-lasting.

  • "I'm using the ReTensioning® Method with most of my clients and it has changed my mindset about working with issues involving joints. So far I have gotten very positive feedback including with carpal tunnel, hip, and chronic neck issues. I love the way it fits with craniosacral work also. Most of all I love the benefits I've received personally with significant improvement in chronic neck, hip, knee, wrist, and foot issues. Numbness that I have had in my feet for several years is receding and the flexibility and sensory awareness greatly increased."

  • "I felt awesome benefit from receiving the techniques even from brief practice periods, without being "wiped out" the next day. Thanks!"

    - K Lee-Regier, LMT

  • "Excellent hands-on demonstration with each joint. Skillful and highly intuitive with all movements covered."
